Core Sound Waterfowl Weekend

Event Description

Harkers Island celebrates Down East traditions during Core Sound Waterfowl Weekend, starting Friday evening with the Core Sound Chow Down and the island's Bring Back the Lights opening night. The Core Sound Waterfowl Museum & Heritage Center is decked out for Christmas with its Gallery of Trees, and Saturday brings artists and carvers, scallop fritters and other local food, musical performances, and a 2 PM live auction in the big tent. The same weekend, the Core Sound Decoy Festival on the island features retriever demonstrations and a Sunday Youth Day for kids. The Friday Chow Down is ticketed at $35 for museum members and $45 for non-members.
