Seaview Fishing Pier
Description
Seaview Fishing Pier is the only ocean fishing pier in North Topsail Beach and the northernmost of Topsail Island's three piers, reaching more than 1,000 feet into the Atlantic. The pier is open around the clock, and its deck lights draw anglers out after dark. A fishing pass is $17 per person per day, covers up to two rods, and lasts until 6 AM the next morning. The pier carries a license that covers everyone fishing from it, so visitors do not need their own North Carolina coastal recreational fishing license while on the pier. Family members who only want to walk out and watch can buy a $2 spectator pass. The pier house runs a full tackle and convenience shop that sells bait, tackle and ice, and rods rent for $8 each per day, so first-timers do not need their own gear. Depending on the season, anglers catch bluefish, Spanish mackerel, red drum, sea mullet and spot, and king mackerel are caught off the end of the pier. An on-site restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, with hours that change by season, and the property also has a motel. Live webcams stream the pier and the surf beside it, which helps families check conditions before heading out.
