Richard Ray Park

Description

Richard Ray All-America Park offers families a diverse 7-acre recreational destination with unique educational elements in Jacksonville. The park features a state-of-the-art playground designed in the shape of North Carolina with synthetic rubber surfacing for safety. Visitors can explore the Gardens of the States, showcasing horticultural examples from seven regions of the United States along educational pathways with informational kiosks. The park's distinctive Meditation Labyrinth provides a peaceful walking meditation experience with ancient symbols including circles, spirals, and meanders. An amphitheater hosts community events and performances throughout the year, while two picnic shelters accommodate family gatherings. Nature trails wind through the grounds, connecting the various amenities. Dedicated in 2003 to honor civic leader Richard L. Ray's vision of making Jacksonville welcoming to all residents, this park combines recreation, education, and community gathering in a beautifully landscaped setting.
