Pender Memorial Park

Description

Pender Memorial Park spans 26 acres off South Smith Street in Burgaw and serves as Pender County's primary venue for youth sports. It has five lighted baseball/softball fields, three football/soccer fields, two batting cages, two concession stand/restroom buildings, and two parking lots. It's the home field for Burgaw Diamond Youth baseball/softball, Pender Youth Soccer, and Pender Youth Football. A playground and a reservable picnic shelter sit on the property as well. Families headed for the playground do better entering from the West Hayes Street side rather than South Smith Street — that entrance (409 West Hayes Street, also listed as an address for this facility) puts parking closer to the play area, while the Smith Street side is oriented toward the ballfields and is a longer walk to the playground. The picnic shelter can be booked through the county's online facility reservation system for birthday parties, family gatherings, and other private events.
