Onslow County Museum

Description

The Onslow County Museum in Richlands preserves and showcases the rich history of Onslow County through engaging permanent and temporary exhibits that tell the story from prehistoric beginnings to present day. The museum relocated in 1994 to its current facility after outgrowing its original location in downtown Richlands. Visitors can explore exhibits like 'Shall We Gather,' featuring artifacts donated by local faith communities, and 'Discover Onslow,' which explores the county's ecology, geography, and natural history. The museum also houses a valuable research room containing historical and genealogical resources, architectural history files, and books on eastern North Carolina, making it an important educational resource for residents and visitors alike.
