Nelva R. Albury Recreation Area

Description

Nelva R. Albury Recreation Area combines a children's playground with practical beach-day amenities on the north end of Surf City. The play area includes a pirate-ship modular structure, individual swings, and a parent-and-child swing. Families can also use the picnic shelter, public restrooms, and parking, while Broadway Beach Access #5 sits across the street. The adjacent beach access is one of Surf City's designated accessible access points, and beach wheelchairs may be reserved through the Town. The Town has not published park-specific operating hours or an admission charge. Visitors should note that Surf City charges for parking in Town lots from March 1 through October 31 between 9:00 AM and 6:00 PM. The Town's parks plan identifies an accessibility improvement needed between the sidewalk and shelter, so families relying on step-free access should confirm current conditions before visiting.
