Louis Randolph Johnson Jr. Memorial Park

Description

Louis Randolph Johnson Jr. Memorial Park is Beaufort's go-to spot for young kids on hot days, thanks to a splash pad that runs from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. through September 30 each season. The park sits at 1017 Pine Street, a few blocks inland from the waterfront. Beyond the splash pad, it has a playground, walking paths, shade areas, a picnic shelter, and public restrooms — enough to fill a morning or afternoon without needing to pack much. The layout works well for parents managing multiple ages: toddlers and preschoolers gravitate to the splash pad and playground equipment, while older kids have room to run on the paths and open green space. The picnic shelter makes it a practical choice for birthday parties or group meetups. Admission and parking are free. The park is maintained by the Town of Beaufort Parks and Recreation Department.
