Jolly Roger Pier

Description

The Jolly Roger Pier stretches 850 feet into the Atlantic near the middle of Topsail Beach and is one of the three ocean fishing piers on Topsail Island. Families can fish from the pier or walk out to watch for dolphins, sea turtles, shorebirds and fish, and the pier is lit at night for an evening stroll. The tackle shop on the pier carries bait and tackle, rents rods, and sells snacks and beach supplies, so first-time anglers don't need their own gear. A walk-on spectator pass is $2 a day, and fishing tickets for children 13 and younger are half price. The pier holds a blanket coastal fishing license that covers everyone fishing from it, so no separate license is needed. The Jolly Roger Grill is on the pier.
