Jacksonville Landing

Description

Jacksonville Landing is a free public waterfront access on the New River in downtown Jacksonville, set between the Buddy Phillips Bridge and the older bridge along South Marine Boulevard. The site has three boat ramps, two docks, a canoe and kayak launch, a boardwalk, public restrooms and green space. Families can launch a kayak or boat, fish from the water's edge, or walk the boardwalk along the river. Jacksonville Tourism also lists a fishing pier at the landing. Parking is plentiful, with space for 69 vehicles with trailers and 60 passenger vehicles. The North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission built the landing, which opened in 2014. The City of Jacksonville asks visitors to take trash with them and to pick up fishing line, hooks and lures so the area stays safe for children, pets and wildlife.
