Description

Grayden Paul Park occupies a prime stretch of Beaufort's waterfront at 700 Front Street, directly across Taylor's Creek from the Rachel Carson Reserve. The view alone is worth the stop — on a clear day, families can spot the wild horses on Carrot Island from the elevated dock or the park's gazebo. A floating dinghy dock and a walk-in small-vessel launch make it a practical starting point for kayaking over to the reserve. The park offers a kayak storage rack (available by permit through the town), a bike rack with a repair station, and open green space for picnicking. There are no playgrounds or restrooms on site, so it works best as a scenic stop or a launch point rather than a long stay with small children. Pair it with a walk along the Front Street boardwalk or a visit to the Maritime Museum a few blocks east. The park is maintained by the Town of Beaufort and is free to access year-round.
