Eastern Park

Description

Eastern Park is a 31-acre Carteret County recreation complex in Smyrna with options for both playground time and organized sports. The park includes ballfields, a soccer field, basketball and lighted tennis courts, a walking trail, a picnic shelter and other picnic space, concession stands, and restrooms. A disc golf course adds another activity, though parts of the course cross active recreation areas.

The playground was replaced with new equipment in 2023. It has slides, swings, climbing features, safety railings, and artificial turf surfacing designed to provide ADA access. The county describes the playground as inclusive and intended for children of different ages and abilities. Families can pair playground time with a walk or bring a meal for the picnic area. Restrooms are generally available but may close during freezing months.
