Central Pender Park

Description

Central Pender Park opened in August 2026 as the county's newest recreation site, sitting on U.S. Highway 117 just north of Burgaw. Phase I includes four lighted multi-purpose fields, a playground, a multi-use path for walking and biking, open greenspace, and a picnic shelter. The lighted fields support youth and adult sports leagues as well as drop-in play, while the multi-use path and greenspace give families room to walk, run, or spread out for a picnic. The picnic shelter can be reserved through the county's recreation portal for birthday parties and gatherings; field reservations are handled through the Pender County Parks and Recreation office. As a new park, additional amenities are planned for future phases. Parking is on site. Families looking for a modern playground and sports complex in central Pender County will find this a practical, all-ages destination.
