Calico Creek Boardwalk

Description

Calico Creek Boardwalk follows the Morehead City waterfront from North 19th and Bay Street along Calico Creek to North 22nd Street. The city lists a boardwalk, bike trail, pier, trails, walking track, and water views at the site. A regional trail guide describes the connected sidewalk-and-boardwalk route as an easy 1.14-mile option for walking, jogging, and biking, with scenic creek views, sunsets, and opportunities to observe waterfowl.

Families can take a short waterfront stroll or begin near the Morehead City Recreation Center at 1600 Fisher Street, where the trail guide directs visitors for parking, restrooms, and water fountains. Because portions of the route follow or cross over the water, children should remain closely supervised. Morehead City's ADA assessment identifies no designated accessible parking or compliant accessible route at the boardwalk, so visitors with mobility needs may want to contact Parks and Recreation before planning a visit.
